The cows are fed an all grass diet, except for the occasional apple. Cows are ruminants, which means they have a digestive tract evolved to digest pasture plants that are high in cellulose and fiber rather than grains. So grass is what they get, spring, summer, fall and winter. This keeps them happy and healthy and produces delicious beef.
Timberline farm raises many breeds like Black Angus, Wagyu, Shorthorns and Speckle Park. These breeds can take up to two years to grow to market weight, but they all are known for having well marbled, top quality meat.
To place an order for grass fed beef
A little bit of everything, when you place your order you can discuss exactly what you want in your box, but it will roughly contain;
From the time the grass starts growing in the spring until the snow buries the fields in the winter, the cows at Timberline Farm graze in lush tree lined pastures. When winter comes the cows are fed top quality cut from the same pastures. The result is full flavoured, tender and nicely marbled beef. The natural lifestyle produces healthy animals but healthy beef. To maximize flavour and tenderness the beef is dry aged for 3 to 4 weeks before it is butchered and vacuum packed.
